Hainan, the green island in the south of China, attracts visitors with its tropical climate, pristine white beaches, and a variety of resorts. I spent unforgettable days exploring Yalong Bay, Dadonghai, and the resort city of Sanya. Here are my impressions and tips for vacationing on this paradise island.

Yalong Bay

Yalong Bay is a refined place with crystal-clear water and soft sand. The bay is known for its elite hotels and golf courses, making it an ideal choice for lovers of luxury and tranquility. I enjoyed not only beach relaxation but also excellent conditions for golfing. The beachside restaurants offer exquisite seafood, making for a true culinary journey.

Dadonghai offers a more active and dynamic recreation. It is the perfect place for surfing enthusiasts and other water sports. The wind here is favorable for kite surfing and windsurfing, and numerous schools offer lessons for beginners. I tried surfing and was surprised at how engaging it was.

Sanya – The Resort City

Sanya is undoubtedly the jewel of Hainan. The city offers a wide range of entertainment options, from shopping in modern malls to exploring historical sites. I visited Nanshan, where I could see the huge statue of the Bodhisattva Guanyin standing on a small island in the sea. Evenings in Sanya are incredibly scenic, especially in the area of bars and restaurants, where you can enjoy local cuisine and exotic cocktails.

Which Resort to Choose?

It all depends on your preferences. If you are looking for solitude and luxury, Yalong Bay is your choice. For active recreation and sports, Dadonghai is ideal. Sanya offers a harmonious blend of cultural rest and the opportunity to dive into nightlife.
